In case Acasa or Il Castelletto are not rented yet, you can use Spicchiaiolona exclusively for your private party of at most 18 persons (420 square meters).

The hamlet Spicchiaiolona, a former ancient farmhouse whose impressive, solid stone walls tell a centuries-old history is on a hilltop with an unobstructed wide panoramic view as far as to the Monte Amiata and Corsica, in one of the most beautiful and popular locations in the heart of Tuscany, 12 km from Volterra, located between San Gimignano, Colle Val D'Elsa and Volterra. The hamlet Spicchiaiolona is surrounded by cornfields, olive groves and woods.

One can easily be seduced by this area: the gentle landscape, the sun, the cypresses, the cicadas, the olives, the tastes, the scents, the wine, the excellent cuisine and the Mediterranean joie de vivre; the starry sky on your terrace or by the pool and in June countless glowworms enchant the night magically.

The hamlet and its houses

The hamlet Spicchiaiolona with the owner's house "CasaMia" and its two spacious houses "Acasa" and "Il Castelletto" was renovated with love and respecting the Tuscan country style.

“Acasa”: you enter the kitchen with a fireplace crossing a large terrace and proceed climbing a staircase to the first floor, the living quarters with a living room, four king size bedrooms, one bedroom with two single beds and two bathrooms with shower.

“Il Castelletto”: this separate house has a lovely terrace from which a staircase to the first floor leads into the dining room and kitchen with a fireplace. From here, you take the stairs to the living quarters with three king size bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers and a spacious living room with air conditioning.

"Loft": a 55 square meters huge room, used as Wedding Suite, covered Yoga practice room or as banquet hall, if the weather does not show its friendly side.

The entire hamlet Spicchiaiolona with its large pool is exclusively available to you. Only the owner couple is discreetly present, offering information or small adjustments.

Wedding or Family Reunion

You are a couple who wants to get married in Tuscany, you want to gather your extended family scattered all over the world on neutral ground, in a place that will charm everyone. Your or our Wedding Manager will help you to make your covenant forever a highlight for you and your closest family and friends. It is an honor to offer you a stay in our "Wedding Suite" as a wedding gift. The garden, the pool area, a common room for everybody are at your full disposition. You will be spoiled for choice: a selection of catering services for each day or especially for the wedding, destination and modalities of a wedding trip for the whole society and an unlimited feast with a large dance floor; when lust grabs you, take a midnight swim in the illuminated pool.

Should it rain the whole wedding party eats, drinks, celebrates and dances alternatively in our comfortably dry and heated loft.

Creative Group

You're a facilitator, a coach, you follow a group of painters, yoga trainees, people who meditate, creative authors or a group with a different activity: You will be able to work undisturbed. It always impresses how the atmosphere around Spicchiaiolona liberates thinking, perception and feelings, unleashes resources, encourages creativity and lets creative discipline act. Our common room (55 square meters) is big enough for your entire group, an extra room (27 square meters) is optionally available and in good weather you have the whole landscape at your choice.

You might need material that you cannot transport to our place, you are not sure whether our hamlet is suitable for you, please let us know and we will work out a tailor-made solution with you.

You will be happy to see how well you can set up the hamlet for your needs. In painting classes, everyone finds their workplace, for yoga classes you have a large weatherproof "loft" for 15 trainees where all participants can relax, lie down arms free and extended. On the pool terrace you have enough tables and chairs to work in the large group and everyone will still find a quiet place to relax, concentrate or meditate.

Your wedding, your meeting or your course will remain an unforgettable moment of excellence for you and all the participants.

Spicchiaiolona is suitable for weddings, reunions of large families and coached or facilitated groups that want to get involved intensively with painting, yoga, meditation, calligraphy, theater work, dance, creative writing or ... Be it outdoors or indoors, whether in the large loft or as an option in the enclosed porch, there is space as much as you want: to rest and relax, to read or write, for the children to play, group activities , yoga classes, meditation, for extensive walks and excursions. Should it rain, the interior can easily accommodate all. You will enjoy the fireplace in the cooler seasons.

The swimming pool of 20 m length, 4 meters width and 1.25 – 1.50 meters depth cools you in the summer heat and invites you to swim or play. From the house and from the large terrace by the pool you have a view to the Monte Amiata and Corsica that you will not forget. In the pool area there is a pool house with a barbecue and a wood oven to bake pizza. The pool house opens onto the large pool terrace where you can also dance when celebrating. A small kitchen and a toilet in the pool house complete the offer for guests of Spicchiaiolona.

Volterra, 'the city of winds and stones', and San Gimignano, 'Medieval Manhattan' amaze. Walking through the streets gives you the feeling of being in another time. If you forget your smartphone, you can rely almost for sure that someone will follow you and will give it back to you ;-) Volterra and San Gimignano are saturated with architecture of different eras, culture, crafts and restaurants. Etruscan and medieval walls, gates and tombs, the Roman theater in Volterra, palaces and churches and the towers of San Gimignano spoil the art-lovers. 2015 an amphitheater was discovered by chance in Volterra, comparable to the Coliseum in Rome; quite a challenge for historians who have to rewrite the history of Volterra. Alabaster and goldsmiths invite you to purchase. Gold award-winning wines at our neighbor's Bengt MonteRosola, wines from Bolgheri, Chianti, Carmignano and the Vernaccia di San Gimignano spoil wine lovers. Zuppa Volterrana and roast boar are prepared both in taverns and in VIP-restaurants with the same care as an Aragosta, and you can drink well an open table wine as an alternative to a Tignanello.

The landscape is ideal for hiking. At your destination, stop off in an agriturism and enjoy the genuine food. A car service will pick you up and bring you home safely. If you want to explore the countryside with your own or rented high quality bikes, keep in mind that the "gentle" Tuscan hills fool you and go in the legs! When mountain biking watch out not to end up in a wild boar herd. A treat is jogging in the morning or evening sunshine. A tennis court is in Volterra. Ride to nearby golf courses within an hour range or go climbing (severity 5b to 7a) with your own material in the rocks of the Falesia di San Vivaldo.

Hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere, plenty of space for children, the refreshing swimming pool, the cypresses, olive trees, corn fields and woods, the warm sun, the light, the smells and the sounds of nature will enable you to have a wonderful and pleasant stay.

Unfortunately you can not bring your pets to your event.

The house Il Castelletto has many steps and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

During your event, there will be no vacation home guests.
